Kick off the Carnival in style! Day 1 sets the tone for three incredible days of racing, entertainment, and celebration. Experience the thrill of South Australia’s premier country racing event, with action on the track and excitement all around the course – the perfect start to an unforgettable Cup Carnival.

Community Club Challenge
Nominate your registered community group to participate in the Port Lincoln Racing Club Barrier Draw and win your group a share in $4000 prize money thanks to Sportsbet. Bring along six or more club members for a free day at the races! Sportsbet will provide every club with a barrier in the Wednesday races - if your horse wins, so do you!

Dinner at the Marina Hotel
After Day 1 of the MGA Cup Carnival, why not head down to the Marina Hotel and unwind with an informal dinner by the water. It’s the perfect chance to relax, swap stories from the day’s racing, and enjoy good food and company in a laid-back setting. Previous MGA Cup trophies will also be on display, adding a touch of history and a great conversation starter to the evening.

Gather your friends, dust off your clubs, and join us for a great day on the greens at the Port Lincoln Golf Club, with doors opening from 10am.
Be part of our exciting Ambrose Golf Tournament, a highlight of the Port Lincoln Cup Carnival celebrations, played in teams of four. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or just in it for fun, it’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy some friendly competition in a relaxed and social atmosphere.
Players will need to bring their own golf gear, or equipment can be hired directly from the Port Lincoln Golf Club.

Introducing our Cup Carnival Ambassador
Kerrin McEvoy
The Port Lincoln Racing Club is thrilled to announce Kerrin McEvoy as ambassador for the 2026 MGA Insurance Group Port Lincoln Cup.
Born on the Eyre Peninsula out of Streaky Bay, Kerrin is one of Australia's most celebrated jockeys. With three Melbourne Cups under his belt and an incredible international career spanning decades, we're thrilled to welcome him back to the region.
Kerrin attends as a distinguished guest of the Port Lincoln Cup on Friday 27 February at the Port Lincoln Racing Club. He will also join his father, Phil, as well as Racing.com presenters John Kelton and Terry McAuliffe as a special guest speaker for the Port Lincoln Cup Calcutta in Sharky's Bar on Thursday evening leading into the Cup.
With plenty of racing talent on display over two days, we're delighted to welcome Kerrin back to the region.

From elegant dresses and tailored suits to statement hats and accessories, participants are encouraged to embrace current fashion trends while reflecting their own personal style. Whether you’re competing or simply enjoying the spectacle, Fashions on the Field promises a vibrant, stylish, and memorable experience that brings fashion and racing together like never before.

Entrants should dress with the weather in mind ie. if it’s a Winter Cup, they should be dressed in appropriate clothing, not in a summer dress
Entrants should not be dressed as if they are going to a nightclub – appropriate day wear is essential

The entrant’s personality and willingness to think outside the square should be obvious in their outfit
They should look confident and happy in their outfit and wear something that makes them stand out in a positive manner

Ladies appropriate headwear is essential
Men’s accessories should be considered (but not essential)
The overall picture must be considered in the judging – bag, shoes, jewellery, accessories and headwear
The entire outfit must be complementary and fit together

Entrants must show that they’re aware of current trends and interpret these trends in their own way
Elements of their outfit should reflect current trends without losing the entrant’s personal flair

Your Membership: Ensure you have your membership card or race day ticket ready for entry (card, printed or digital).
Photo ID: If you’re lucky enough to look under 25, you’ll need ID at all bars.
Sun Smart Attire: She’s set to be a warm one! Bring a hat, sunnies and sunscreen if you can.
Cash or Card: . All pop up bars are card-only – please keep this in mind when queuing for a beverage! Cash or card is accepted at the gate, as well as at Santi’s Canteen, Marmion Bar, the Function Centre (packaged ticketholders only) and all TAB tote facilities

BYO Booze: This is a licensed event, and BYO Booze is strictly not permitted. Bag checks will be conducted at admission gates.
Umbrellas and Bulky Items: We’ve got plenty of shade and seating, so please leave your umbrellas at home! Picnic blankets and low-back camping chairs are welcome, however, please be mindful of others, and be aware that lawn space is limited at our busy meetings!

Port Lincoln Racing Club requests the following minimum standards, and invites anyone attending the races to bring their individual flair if they desire.
Please abide by the following minimum standards:
Neat casual attire (t-shirts with no offensive text)
Collared shirts
Dress shorts, trousers, clean denim or cargos (no tears)
Dresses (all styles including strapless)
Clean enclosed shoes or open toe dress sandals (no thongs)
Premium hospitality packages on Cup day encourage formal racewear.

Complimentary transfers from the Port Lincoln Hotel or Marina Hotel to the Port Lincoln Racing Club are available on Port Lincoln Cup day.
Parking is extremely limited. We highly recommend making the most of our free transfers. Parking is available on the outside of the track along the fence line.
